Main Course Recipe: Gooey Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing

Main Course Recipe: Gooey Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing

A serving of the original recipe has 250 calories and 15g fat! I cut the calories in half by using fat-free cream cheese, reduced-fat crescent roll dough, brown sugar & no-calorie sweetener!

Main Course: Salmon, Sweet Potatoes and Spinach

Main Course: Salmon, Sweet Potatoes and Spinach

Ingredients

2 portion-size yams
1 lemon, halved, divided
2 portions salmon fillet (about 12 oz.)
2 tsp. olive oil
8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 bag (5 oz.) baby spinach leaves

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 F. Place yams on a baking sheet and bake until tender, about 45 minutes. After yams have baked for about 25 minutes, preheat grill to medium. Squeeze half the lemon over salmon fillets and brush with olive oil. Place salmon on grill and cook until opaque throughout, about 5 minutes each side. While salmon is cooking, lightly coat a large skillet with butter-flavored cooking spray and place over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and saute for 3 minutes. Add spinach and saute until wilted, about 3 more minutes. Place a portion of salmon on a bed of spinach along with a portion-size yam on each plate. Squeeze remaining lemon over salmon and spinach. Serve and enjoy!

Janet Planet from HIGH SCHOOL!

Janet Planet from HIGH SCHOOL!

Hello listeners!

Recording has been a huge part of my life most of my life.

While researching for radio, I've run across many songs  that exist in my own repertoire.  Songs that I visited as a young singer and songs that I've "re-purposed" for various applications.

I went to my own recorded  archives and found my High School talent show performance of James Taylor's "Blossom" and Joni Mitchell's "Circle Game" and a re-write of Harold Arlen's classic "If I Only Had A Brain" (re interpreted and performed as a conversation between a man and a woman), Mark Gungor on piano.

I thought it'd be fun to post them for you to hear!

Enjoy!  and if you're an up and coming artist, remember record, record, record!

LOve and Happiness,
Janet

Phone-to-graphs

Phone-to-graphs

Hello listeners.

I've been performing in San Diego CA area the last two days.
When I travel, I try my best to get out of the hotel and walk... experience  "God's Green Earth".
An absolute beautiful day in California, 75 degrees, sun shining....you get the picture.

With my  trusty phone in hand, (for pictures, that is), I set out.
I walked for a couple of hours and took these pictures to share with you.

Sun, beach, birds and flowering knolls, All I could think was, "o.k. Californians, I get it!"

So taken with the day I had to share my awe with someone, so I hailed a gentleman walking on the other side of the street and  said "beautiful day!" he replied, "Heaven on a stick!"

I concur.

David and Pam

David and Pam

We've had such loyal fans for so many years.  Fans that have braved weather conditions, fans that have driven hundreds of miles and in some cases traveled thousands of miles to support us and our music.

Fans that we consider family and feel honored to perform for.  It doesn't matter if I'm in a small town or a large city.  With heartfelt sincerity, I'm at times overwhelmed with the support.

I'm pictured here with a dear friend David and loyal and very happy fan, Pam  at the Italian Center  in Milwaukee Wi.

Thank you so much for bringing us joy.  I only hope we continue to do the same for you.

LOve and Happiness,

Janet

Hi from NYC!

Hi from NYC!

Hello Friends!

Having a great time in NYC.

Spent the afternoon with Gene Bertoncini working out at the gym.

Gene Bertoncini is a dear friend and respected jazz guitarist in the city and beyond.  Check out his website http://www.genebertoncini.com

We were going to go to Birdland tonight to see John Pizzarelli, (who is a dear friend of Gene's) but they're sold out.

I called the manager at Feinstein's and he invited us to see "Little Anthony and The Imperials" tonight.

Never a dull moment or lack of things to see and do.

We'll be back at Feinstein's August 17th and 18th of August.  Make your plans to come to the "Big Apple" now!

Blessed

I've been blessed.  The journey in this business hasn't been easy but the rewards are abundant!
Rewards like... the relationships with musicians that give of their talents when others are in need.
...the warmth and love they demonstrate under pressure.
... the joy on the faces of friends and fans of our music.
... the honor of having the opportunity to "hold court" and be a conduit for the love and blessings bestowed upon us through God's favor.
...laughter.
...more laughter.
... being grateful and not regretful.

...Feeling like a "job well done" the day after a performance that wouldn't have been possible without the extreme efforts of one of the coolest teams in the world.

Thank you to all and know I never, ever take this for granted.

LOve and Happiness,

Janet
